I am a mainstream doctor who now practices complementary medicine.
Although I am fully qualified, registered and licensed in conventional medicine I favour other methods when possible and appropriate. Early in my career my own health problems taught me that underneath our doctorly manner there is a lot that we medics do not understand.
Nowadays I try to find causes before considering treatments. I find that things usually do have causes that can be identified, even if only partly. People come to me with a wide variety of conditions; both physical and non-physical.
I tend to combine talking, ‘energy’ work, advice and remedies. I use homeopathy particularly, as above all other techniques, it has impressed me the most. Homeopathy is complicated and demanding but it’s also the method I associate with the best results, despite what the popular press would have you believe!
Some conditions aren’t suitable for my approach of course and nor am I an alternative to mainstream medicine when that’s indicated.
