I’m Louise McIlroy, a Traditional and Five Element Acupuncturist based in Richmond, specialising in women’s health, fertility acupuncture and pregnancy support. In my Richmond clinic, I also treat people of all ages with a diverse range of conditions. Alongside my specialist focus, I have in-depth knowledge and experience in supporting musculoskeletal pain, anxiety, stress, digestive issues, migraines and many other common issues.
I trained at The Acupuncture Academy in Leamington Spa, graduating with a Distinction, and have completed extensive postgraduate training in fertility, natural conception, assisted conception and pregnancy care. As a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) – the UK’s largest professional body for acupuncturists. I meet the highest standards of training, safety and professional conduct. Choosing a BAcC registered practitioner is important because all members must complete a minimum of three years of rigorous, degree level training at an accredited college. This ensures your treatment is safe, evidence informed and delivered by someone with extensive clinical education.
Treatments are gentle, personalised and designed to support your physical and emotional wellbeing. I also integrate Moxibustion, Cupping and Gua Sha where helpful, using these tools alongside acupuncture to enhance circulation, reduce pain and support overall healing.
Before becoming an acupuncturist, I worked in senior corporate roles. Experiencing the profound benefits of acupuncture firsthand inspired me to retrain, and I now feel incredibly fortunate to help others experience the restorative, grounding and transformative effects of this medicine every day.

Coverage varies between insurers, so it’s worth checking your policy. If your insurer requires it, I can provide a receipt for you to claim back directly.
