Hi, I’m Mike, your Myofascial Osteopath, and I like to help people with long-term, unresolving pain and dysfunction who have ‘tried everything’, but their problems persist.
Myofascial Osteopathy is hands-on, neuro-functional work in a neuroplastic musculosketelal context, using myofascial techniques to create sensory feedback to help your brain re-learn to make the right choices when it comes to moving and stabilising your body – and it is usually instantly demonstrable and measurable within the session. In these sessions, we look at neural pathways, and common patterns of compensation that can result in spinal and joint compression, and inflammation. We examine at what your nervous system is making your body do, as opposed to what it should be doing – and we change that.
The brain has a habit of shifting away from full engagement of key muscles/muscle groups, for a variety of reasons – maybe due to injury, a condition, pregnancy often, scar tissue from injury or intervention wink always disrupt neural pathways. C-Section? You need to come and see me. Sometimes, who knows what the reason is. Sitting at a desk all day? Maybe.
Learn how all this can feed into a cycle of reduced spinal and joint mobility and stability, inhibition of Diaphragm form and unction and all the associated visceral/digestive problems that go with that – and let’s break that cycle!
